Champion Scottish and multistyle fiddler Black and Nova Scotia/Cape Breton fiddler and pianist MacGillivray will team up for a duo musical adventure. The evening will feature the driving Celtic dance tunes these two powerhouse musicians are both known for, but also new original material, explorations into different styles, and humorous bits that could never be possible in a live setting, according to organizers.

Black burst onto the international stage when she became Scotland’s Glenfiddich Fiddle Champion, two-time U.S. National Scottish Fiddle Champion, and two-time Canadian Maritime Fiddle Champion, all within a three-year period.

MacGillivray is from Lanark, a small community on the northeastern shore of Nova Scotia. MacGillivray is a recipient of the Queen Elizabeth II Diamond Jubilee medal for contributions to culture in Canada.
