Renato M. Silva – Pawtucket

Renato M. Silva, 92, formerly of Pawtucket, passed away on Tuesday, April 6, 2021, at the Mt. St. Rita Health Center, Cumberland. He was the husband of the late Aurora (DosSantos) Silva.

Born in Portugal, he was the son of the late Manuel Fragoso Silva and the late Jacinta Rosa Montalvo. He moved to this country in 1962, settling in Pawtucket.
Mr. Silva was a well respected and hard working master plumber and pipefitter. He was employed for many years by Cabco Engineering and Phalanx Engineering.

Renato was a communicant of the St. Mary Church, Pawtucket. He was a passionate Sporting Clube of Portugal, Boston Bruins, Celtics and Red Sox fan, as well as New England Patriots fan. In addition to watching his beloved sports, he would enjoy reading, but most of all loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Those who love him will always remember him for his generosity, his hats, good red wine and chocolates, but most of all his love for his wife with who he shared 60 years together with.

He leaves his daughter, Theresa Marie Cortes, and her husband, Victor, of North Attleboro, Mass.; his son, Roy Silva, and his wife, Susan, of Esmond; his four grandchildren Jonathan and Jason Silva, Diana Sladen and Kristen Cortes; his two beloved great-grandchildren Phoenix and Lennox Sladen; as well as several nieces and nephews. He was the brother of the late Hermengildo Silva, Manuel Fragoso Silva, and Antonio Fragoso Silva.

Relatives and friends are kindly invited to Renato's Life Celebration to be held with visiting hours on Friday, April 9, from 4 to 8 p.m., and continues on Saturday, April 10, at 9 a.m., from the J. J. Duffy Funeral Home, 757 Mendon Road, Route 122, Cumberland. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m., in the St. Mary Church, Pine Street, Pawtucket. Burial will follow in the Swan Point Cemetery, Providence.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his memory to the Mount Saint Rita Health Centre - Activities Committee, 15 Summer Brown Road, Cumberland, R.I., 02864.
