Peter J. Pihun - Tiverton

Peter J. Pihun, 71, passed away Saturday, May 22, in Saint Anne’s Hospital. He was the companion of Patricia Sokoll of Providence.

Born in Woonsocket, he was the son of the late Joseph and Margaret (Huntoon) Pihun.

Peter worked as a volunteer delivering meals for CMAC in Fall River, Mass., and he also worked with adults with special needs for Southeastern Mass. Education Collaborative.

He was a United States Army Veteran. He also obtained his master's in business. He was a member of the Tiverton Rod and Gun Club and was also an instructor for the NRA for several years. Peter was a strong advocate for animal protection.

He is survived by his sister, Carol Franz of Cumberland; one niece, Alyson Franz of Johnston; one nephew, Christian Franz of Cumberland; one great-nephew, Bentley; and one great-niece, Lillian. He also leaves behind his pride and joy, his canine companion, Ducky.

A funeral home service will be held on Tuesday, June 1, at 11:30 a.m., in the S. DiPardo Memorial Chapel Funeral Home, 1583 Diamond Hill Road, Woonsocket. Burial will be in St. Charles Cemetery, Blackstone, Mass.
