Joan Wyatt Hook - Cumberland

Joan Wyatt Hook, 90, of Cumberland, passed away on Saturday, May 29, 2021 at Hope Hospice and Palliative Care, Providence. She was the wife of the late Alan V. Hook.

Born in Geneva, N.Y., she was the daughter of the late John and Mildred (Murphy) Wyatt. She resided in Cumberland for the past 49 years.

Mrs. Hook was employed as a registered nurse at both the Geneva General Hospital and the Grandview Nursing Center the for 37 years until her retirement in 1987.

She was a communicant of the St. John Vianney Church, and a member of the Cumberland Seniors. Joan enjoyed spending time with her family.

She leaves her two sons, Larry Hook and his wife Susan of North Smithfield, and Kevin Hook and his wife Colleen of Marstons Mills, Mass.; her daughter Sandra Sankey and her husband George of Cumberland; her brother John Wyatt of Shelby, Mich., and Constance Long of Romulus, N.Y.; as well as her six grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. She was the mother of the late Steven Hook and Bryan Hook.

Relatives and friends are kindly invited to Joan's life celebration to be held with visiting hours on Monday, June 7, from 9 to 11 a.m. Burial will be private.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to the American Heart Association and the American Cancer Society.
