Poirier graduates from U.S. Naval Academy

ANNAPOLIS, Md. – Donald Poirier, of Lincoln, successfully completed four years of challenging academic, physical, and professional military training, graduating from the United States Naval Academy on May 28.

Poirier earned a bachelor of science degree in naval architecture and marine engineering and a commission as a U.S. Navy Ensign.

He is a graduate of Bishop Feehan High School.

Poirier graduated with distinction in top 100 of the graduating class.

He was captain of the varsity offshore sailing team and received the Admiral DuBose Offshore Sailing Trophy presented to the midshipman with the most outstanding achievement on the offshore sailing team.

He also received the New York Yacht Club Excellence at Sea Award, and the NAAA Senior Award awarded to midshipmen who earn three varsity letters in one sport and who participated in that same sport for four years.
