Roger E. Menard – North Smithfield

Roger E. Menard, 68, of Black Plain Road, died Friday, September 10, 2021, at Landmark Medical Center, Woonsocket.

He was the beloved husband of Diane (Caya) Menard. Mr. & Mrs. Menard would have celebrated their 48th anniversary in October.

Born in Woonsocket, a son of Constance (Belleville) Menard of Cumberland, and the late Eugene Menard, he had lived in North Smithfield for the past 32 years.

Mr. Menard was the owner of Menard’s Electric, retiring earlier this year, and was the electrical inspector for the town of North Smithfield for 23 years. He served on the Manville Fire Department for 14 years, retiring as Captain, and was an honorary member of the Manville Firefighters’ Association. He enjoyed camping, especially in North Conway, N.H., Cape Cod, Old Orchard Beach, Maine, and Lake George, N.Y., and was an avid New England Patriots fan.

Besides his wife, he is survived by one daughter, Amy Gervais, and her husband, Peter, of Millville, Mass.; one son, Jeffrey Menard, and his wife, Diane, of Dallas, Ga.; three brothers, Rene Menard of North Smithfield, Roland Menard of North Smithfield and Russell Menard of Manville; two sisters, Rachel Boiteau of North Smithfield and Rita Lussier of Halls, Tenn.; two grandchildren, Kendall Gervais and Michael Menard; one step-granddaughter, Courtney Jeromin, and her husband, Christopher; and two step-great-grandchildren, Cooper and Caroline Jeromin. He was the brother of the late Robert Menard.

His funeral will be held Wednesday, September 15, 2021, at 9:45 a.m., from Bellows Funeral Chapel, 160 River Road, Lincoln, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. in Saint James Church, 33 Division St., Manville. Burial will follow in Saint James Cemetery, Manville. Relatives and friends are invited, and may call Tuesday from 4 to 7 p.m.
