Woonsocket man sentenced for drug, firearms charges

WOONSOCKET – Alexis Sierra, 19, of Woonsocket was sentenced earlier this month to serve five years in prison on drug- and firearm-related charges stemming from his 2020 arrest. According to the office of Attorney General Peter Neronha, Sierra was arrested after police found 4.6 grams of fentanyl, an illegal handgun and drug paraphernalia in his home on Rockridge Drive. Woonsocket Police had identified him as a suspect in an investigation into drug trafficking and gun violence in greater Woonsocket. He had previously been convicted of felony assault. Sierra pled no contest to the charges and was sentenced to two concurrent five-year sentences in Superior Court on Sept. 3.
