Edd Pedro’s ‘Fight for a Cure’ Wiffle Ball tournament raises $27K

PAWTUCKET – Back in action after a year’s absence, the 17th annual Edd Pedro’s “Fight for a Cure” Wiffle Ball event on Aug. 8 at Slater Park was a huge success, with 32 teams hoping to capture this year’s titles.

The tournament raised more than $27,000 from this year’s event – bringing its 17-year total to $431,000 – and another $28,000 was raised from Pedro’s inaugural golf event on Aug. 2 at Pawtucket Country Club.

All the proceeds went directly to the Arthritis Foundation to help find a cure for juvenile arthritis.

The Wiffle Ball tournament’s Competitive Division winner was the “Dunder Wiffmin” team that consisted of Austin Webb, Brian Vetri, Michael Webb, Cameron Daley, and Braedon Daley.

The Fun Division winner was the “4-Sums” team of Rick Bourdeau, Aaron Massey, Richard Marshall, and Zach Newman. Bourdeau, Massey, and Marshall were also on the “Bucket Boys” team that captured the division title in 2019.
