No revelry with the Revery

PAWTUCKET – I wrote a story this week on the impact of the federal government shutdown on two prominent Pawtucket businesses, the Comfort Inn and Collette Vacations (http://bit.ly/15tWzFy), but it turns out an upstart brewery in the city is also being hurt by the ongoing standoff.

Nick Garrison, of Foolproof Brewing on Grotto Avenue, said that the government shutdown is holding up the brewery's new batch of Revery Russian Imperial Stout.

As Garrison explains to me, "basically, we need to make some changes to our label from last year, which requires approval from the feds. Since it's unclear when the shutdown will end, we can't risk brewing the beer until the label is approved because it could tie up one of our tanks for too long."
