RIIL reports next month's postseason schedules

It looks like there will be a postseason in the RIIL after all.

The Rhode Island Interscholastic League sent a press release to the media members across the state on Monday afternoon detailing what next month's playoffs will look like -- of course, as long as the COVID-19 numbers across the state don't throw a monkey's wrench into those plans. Here's a look at the five sports and their roads to championship glory.

CROSS COUNTRY: The three class meets will take place on Saturday, Nov. 7, and the state championship meet will follow the following Saturday afternoon. It's unclear as to if "The Reservation" at Ponaganset High will again serve as the host of these meets.

GIRLS' TENNIS: The Division I, II, and III quarterfinals will be on Monday, Nov. 9, and the semifinals for those three divisions will be held two afternoons later. The championship matches, which will return to Slater Park, will feature the Division I final at 11 a.m., the D-II match at 1:30 p.m., and the D-III match at 4 p.m.

The individual championships will also be held at Slater Park on the weekend of Nov. 20-22, and the division qualifying tournament will take place on Sunday, Nov. 15.

GIRLS' SOCCER: The Division I, II, and III quarterfinals will be on Tuesday, Nov. 17, and the semifinals for those three divisions and Division IV will be held two nights later.
