PAWTUCKET – Keep Blackstone Valley Beautiful is starting a walking group to walk and clean up our environment. “The weather has been great, so let’s get out and walk, meet new friends, and do a quick litter cleanup as we go,” states Donna Kaehler of KBVB.
KBVB will hold a walk in each of the 10 R.I. Blackstone Valley communities on Thursdays at 1 p.m., starting Feb. 23 in North Smithfield and continuing until April 27. Walks will last approximately an hour. Each route will be around 2 miles to get a little exercise and carry grabbers to pick up any litter along the way.
The schedule listing the community for the week, the route, and a sign-up link is available at LitterFree.RI.gov, and at KBVB’s website and facebook pages. Weather delays will push the walk to Friday of the same week.
Keep Blackstone Valley Beautiful will bring all the supplies needed. These walks are on traveled roads and are geared mostly for adults, but children are welcome with supervision.
Residents can join any community they would like. For more information, contact Donna Kaehler at 401-724-2200, ext. 209.
