NORTH PROVIDENCE – Senate District 4 candidate Lenny Cioe says he attended several meetings during the process for a new Neon station from the Procaccianti Group, saying dozens of residents opposed it.

“Why do we need another gas station when we already have 15 on traffic-congested Mineral Spring Avenue? Why should we let another big developer into North Providence who will hurt small businesses in our community?” he said in a news release.

He just lost my vote…. The neon station will be a huge improvement over the blighted empty building at the site of the former “the fire” restaurant. Neon gas stations are owned by a RI based company, provide electric vehicle chargers, deli style foods made to order, a pizza oven for freshly made pizzas, etc. The other gas stations nearby are outdated and cannot compare. Lenny is totally out of touch on this one.
