PROVIDENCE – The Rhode Island League of Charter Schools has announced that the application period for charter public schools is now open for the 2023-24 school-year. Applications will be accepted through March 16, 2023, at 5 p.m. All charter school lotteries will be held in early April 2023.
Charter schools are public schools, free and open to all Rhode Island students. They are located throughout the state and provide elementary, middle, and high school options.
Rhode Island families can learn more about their public charter school options by exploring the family information tool at www.enrollri.org.
Families can also set up an account and submit a common application to all eligible charter schools. Information is available in English, Spanish and Portuguese.
Families can also learn more about individual charter schools by attending a scheduled open house. A calendar of upcoming open houses can be found on the website at www.richarterschools.com.
We’ve recently revised our comment policy to help us be more consistent and to be in keeping with our goal to promote a better community conversation.
If a comment is deleted, rather than complain about it, simply try again by modifying the verbiage.
Comments that will be deleted include:
Those that include threatening, derogatory, obscene, vulgar, lewd, racist, sexist or sexually-oriented language.
This includes any name-calling/nicknames of people both on the local and national level.
Those with accusations or allegations that can’t be proven, or that try to build a negative narrative about one person or entity
over time through a clearly coordinated campaign. If you believe the backstory really needs to be shared,
send us a letter to the editor or a story pitch with your name and contact information.
Those with outright lies or falsehoods.
Please use the 'Report' link on each comment to let us know if you believe a comment was allowed in error.
