PROVIDENCE – Preserve Rhode Island and the Rhode Island Historical Preservation & Heritage Commission announced that the Friends of Hearthside Inc. is among the honorees of the 13th annual Rhody Awards for Historic Preservation.

This year’s celebrations will take place over the weekend of Oct. 16-17. On Saturday, Oct. 16, from noon to 4 p.m., the Rhody Road Tour will give ticket buyers the opportunity to see firsthand the select Rhody Award properties from 2020 and 2021 and meet the honorees. On Sunday, Oct. 17, from 4 to 7 p.m., this year’s honorees will be celebrated in a reception and ceremony at Linden Place in Bristol. Friends of Hearthside Inc. will receive the Antoinette F. Downing Volunteer Service Award for their dedication to interpreting and preserving the Federal-style mansion known as “Hearthside” and their leadership in preserving significant historic resources along Lincoln’s Great Road.

The other 2021 award-winners are: Kenneth R. Woodcock, Antoinette F. Downing Volunteer Service Award; Ned Connors, Frederick C. Williamson Professional Leadership Award; Richard C. Youngken, Frederick C. Williamson Professional Leadership Award; Jonathan and Erin Chapman; Historic Homeowner Award; Providence Performing Arts Center, Historic Preservation Project Award; Dirt Palace Public Projects, Historic Preservation Project Award; John Peixinho, Historic Preservation Project Award; WinnDevelopment and Omni Development, Historic Preservation Project Award; Union Mill LLC, Historic Preservation Project Award; Providence Community Library, Community Award.
