PAWTUCKET – House District 58 candidate George Hovarth says he is the only candidate in the race with understanding and experience in negotiating and closing large-scale real estate and business projects. He said he is also the only candidate who is an attorney licensed and practicing in the state.

“Through my practice, I have learned the importance of reviewing independent consultants’ and economists’ reports and studying available information before determining a project’s viability,” he said in a release. “Study of these reports indicate that the Tidewater project is already 50 percent over budget. It is projected to lose $1.5 million in the first year, and to continue to lose money for decades. It will create a deficit in the city of Pawtucket that will last for generations. It will impose an ongoing tax burden on the state of Rhode Island.”
