Endorsed Democrat and community volunteer Patricia DeDora-St. Germain has announced her candidacy for the recently vacated District 6 City Council seat.
Widely known as an effective and compassionate professional and tireless advocate for Fairlawn and Woodlawn, says DeDora-St. Germain, “I have spent my professional career advocating for underserved and vulnerable populations. My work as a leader in a private, nonprofit agency has given me vast experience making decisions guided by a mission statement, perhaps the number one job prerequisite for this office.”
The basic mission of a district councilor is to help constituents access effective city services, ensure equitable public safety protections, and fight for improving the quality of life in their district, said DeDora-St. Germain.
“I have been performing those functions in our community as a volunteer for many years,” she said.
She said she is confident her commitment to the community makes her the right person for the District 6 seat.
“As president of F.A.C.T., I organized neighborhood clean-ups, hosted forums for neighbors to meet with our community police and representatives of city departments, recruited teams of dedicated volunteers to work with zoning to address problem properties, and served as a liaison between neighbors and city departments to resolve their individual issues,” she said.
