WOONSOCKET – The Woonsocket Police Department announced on Friday they will host a drive-thru "Trunk or Treat" event on Saturday, Oct. 31, from 2 to 3:30 p.m. at the Woonsocket Harris Public Library.

Mayor Lisa Baldelli-Hunt, Public Safety Director Eugene Jalette and Woonsocket police officers are expected to pass out candy to children dressed in Halloween costumes. Parents will drive through the library lot, open their window and have their children open their treat bags. Officers will place treats in the bags and vehicles will leave the lot. Parents and children are asked to remain in their vehicles. Officers will be dressed with masks/mouth coverings and gloves.

The Woonsocket Harris Public Library is located at 303 Clinton St.
