WOONSOCKET – Gov. Dan McKee announced on Thursday the state-run COVID-19 test site currently located at Thundermist Health Center on Clinton Street will be relocating to the Woonsocket Elks Lodge starting Monday, Jan. 10. The new site will open on Monday morning.

The new site is expected to have 500 appointments available per day and offer better traffic flow than the old one. The address for the Woonsocket Elks Lodge is 380 Social St. The site will be open Monday through Sunday from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m.

PCR and rapid testing will be available, and appointments are required. Appointments can be made using the state testing portal at portal.ri.gov or by calling 401-222-8022.

According to the announcement, Thundermist Health Center will continue to operate their own test site at 450 Clinton St. The state-run and Thundermist sites are listed as separate locations on the sign-up portal.

Patients who already have an appointment to get tested at the state-run site at 356 Clinton St. should go to the Elks Lodge instead starting Monday.
