Roland E. Theroux – Cumberland

Roland E. Theroux, 95, of Cumberland, passed away Saturday, April 14, 2018. He was the beloved husband of the late Gertrude (Boiteau) Theroux, who passed away this past January. They were happily married for 70 years.

Born in Woonsocket, he was the son of the late Edward and Emelia (Durand) Theroux.

Roland was a Marine veteran of World War II. He owned and operated B & W Express for many years before retiring in 1985. Roland was an active parishioner of St. Joan of Arc Church volunteering over the years in various capacities.

He is survived by three children, Charles E. Theroux and his wife, Sue, Diane Chait and her husband, Hal, and Marie Anne Paquin and her husband, Mark. He also leaves six grandchildren, Michael Theroux and his wife, Lani, Eric Theroux and his wife, Michele, Matthew Chait and his wife, Shelby, Ashley Paquin, Kelsie Paquin and her fiancé, Steven, and Sean Chait and his wife, Jessica; and five great-grandchildren. He was the brother of the late Rina Latraverse, Peter Theroux, and Rosaire Theroux.

His funeral will be held Saturday, April 21, at 8:30 a.m., from the O’Neill Funeral Home, 3102 Mendon Road, Cumberland, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m., in Saint Joan of Arc Church, 3357 Mendon Road, Cumberland. Burial with military honors will follow in Resurrection Cemetery, Cumberland. Relatives and friends are invited. Visiting hours Saturday from 8:30-9:30 a.m., in the O’Neill Funeral Home.
