During her retirement, she enjoyed volunteering at St. Francis Hospital and Mt. Sinai Hospital in Hartford and golfing with her friends in leagues at Pine Hill Country Club and Millbrook Golf Course in Windsor. In recent years, she enjoyed knitting and crocheting and donated many of the hats and scarves that she made to local charities.

Carmela was a wonderful cook and her family and friends looked forward to the meals she would prepare for holidays and parties. Most of all, she will be remembered as a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother.
