Alyce (Ferruolo) Fanning, 99, of Cumberland, passed away on Monday, September 27, 2021, at the Rhode Island Hospital, Providence.
She was the wife of the late Joseph “Coke” Fanning. Born in Providence, she was the daughter of the late Antonio and Filomena (Chiaverini) Ferruolo. She resided in Cumberland for most of her life.
Mrs. Fanning was a long-time bus monitor in Cumberland for many years.
Alyce was a communicant of the former St. Patrick Church. She enjoyed trips to the casino, playing bingo and high-lo-jack. She was a member of the Cumberland Senior Center. She had recently celebrated her 99th birthday with a large party with her beloved family and friends.
She leaves her children, Jacqueline Greenhalgh of Smithfield, Cindy Ann Fanning (Edwin Bielecki) of Lincoln, and Allison Fanning of Foster; her brother, Edward Ferruolo of North Providence; her grandchildren, Sharon Sheldon Paiva, Jennifer Castore, Joseph Greenhalgh (Krystle), Jessica Greenhalgh, Kali Darling, Elliot Darling, Emmalee Bielecki, and Soleil Bielecki; her six great-grandchildren, Jared, Gianna, Dean, Joey, Jaxon, and Vito; her two great-great-grandchildren, Tyler, Aaliyah, and Keegan; as well as several nieces and nephews. She was the mother of the late Joseph Fanning, Gary Fanning and Joanne Sheldon; and sister of the late Angela Corsini, Mary Ceserreti, Eva DeLoretto, Ana Pandozzi and Evelyn Pantalone.
Alyce’s Life Celebration was held with visiting hours on Thursday, Sept. 30, and on Friday, Oct. 1, in the J. J. Duffy Funeral Home, 757 Mendon Road, Rt. 122, Cumberland. A prayer service was held. Burial followed in the St. Ann Cemetery, Cranston.
