Jeannette (Jan) H. (Plante) Moretti, 79 of Bellingham, Mass., with heavy hearts, we announce the death of Jan on September 9, 2021, at Massachusetts General Hospital, Boston.

Jan was predeceased by her husband, Americo (Mickey) Moretti, her parents, Romeo and Flore Ida (Gaulin) Plante; and her siblings Dorothy Pavoni, Pearl Gauthier, Normand Plante, Robert Plante, Estelle Violette, Aline Zielinski and her niece Diane Gauthier.

She is survived by her siblings Raymond Plante and his wife, Alice, of Tolland, Conn., and Gerald Plante and his wife, Rita, of Blackstone, Mass. Jan is also survived by her many nieces, nephews and dear friends, as well as her beloved cat Pretty Boy.

Jan was born in Woonsocket, R.I., on January 29, 1942, and spent her lifetime in Bellingham, Mass. For many years, following her passion, she catered weddings and events in the Woonsocket/Bellingham area. Jan and her husband, Mickey, were owners of the former Jigg’s Café in Blackstone, established in 1974. She enjoyed many cruises and weekends at Foxwoods with her nieces, sisters and friends. She was always there for her family and friends in their time of need. Jan will be greatly missed.

Her funeral will be held on Saturday, October 9, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m., at St. Theresa Church, 630 Rathbun St., Blackstone, Mass. Interment will follow at St. Jean Baptiste Cemetery, Bellingham, Mass. There are no calling hours.
