Mary M. Nichols, 73, passed away on Friday, September 24, 2021, at home surrounded by her loving family.

She was the wife of Kenneth A. Nichols. They were married for the past 53 years.

Born in Pawtucket, she was the daughter of the late Edward and Margaret (Davis) Randall. Mary resided in Cumberland for the past 14 years, previously residing in Potowomat for almost 20 years and Pawtucket for 25 years.

She was a member of the Pawtuxet Valley Chorus for many years.

Mary enjoyed puzzles but most of all being a “Hockey Mom” to her children over the years.

Along with her husband, she is survived by her daughter, Katherine E. Harding (Ellis), of West Virginia; her two sons, Christopher R. Nichols (Susan) and Matthew L. Nichols (Marisol) all of Cumberland; her three brothers Edward “Ted” Randall (Laurie) of Pawtucket, Jarred Randall (Deborah) of South Kingstown, Robert Randall (Elizabeth) of Chepachet; and her two sisters, Anne Irons (Kenneth) of South Carolina and Rosemary Randall of Foster, R.I.; Her six grandchildren: Hannah Nichols, Liam Nichols, Gabriel Torres, Adacelys Nichols, Lilly Harding and Ellis Harding along with several nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends are kindly invited to Mary’s Life Celebration to begin with visiting hours on Tuesday, September 28, 2021, from 4 to 9 p.m., and continuing on Wednesday, September 29, 2021, at 10:30 a.m., followed by a prayer service at 11 a.m., in the J. J. Duffy Funeral Home, 757 Mendon Road, Cumberland. Burial will take place in R.I. Veterans Cemetery, 301 South County Trail, Exeter.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to the American Cancer Society, 931 Jefferson Blvd., Suite 3004, Warwick, RI 02886.
