Sheila (Moriarty) Richard, 67, of North Smithfield, Rhode Island, died in Providence on Monday, March 11, 2013, surrounded by family and close friends.

She was the loving wife of Donald N. Richard Sr. for 46 years, an adored mother and a cherished grandmother. Born in Providence, Mrs. Richard was the eldest child of the late Daniel P. and Rita S. (Kenny) Moriarty Sr.

Mrs. Richard retired in 2011 after a varied career. She worked for eight years as a health care customer service representative for the Hewlett Packard Company in Warwick, R.I., after a position as a technical support specialist at Biogen in Cambridge, Mass.

She and her husband co-owned the former Eagle Park Hardware Store in Providence for many years. She also worked as a Licensed Practical Nurse for the Hopkins Manor and Our Lady of Fatima Hospital. Sheila was a volunteer at the Rhode Island Arthritis Association and a communicant of Saint Augustine Church.

In addition to her husband Donald, she leaves two sons, Donald N. Richard Jr. and his wife Cara T. Mitchell, and Mark C. Richard and his wife Marie Richard; a daughter, Christine A. Tiner and her husband James M. Tiner Jr.; three sisters, Mary Ellen Robertson, Rita P. Moriarty and Anne M. Moriarty; three brothers, James W. Moriarty, Daniel P. Moriarty Jr. and Kevin M. Moriarty; five loving grandchildren, Hannah, James, Carly, Aidan and Joseph; and many nieces and nephews.

The funeral will be held Friday at 8:45 a.m. from the Russell J. Boyle & Son Funeral Home, 331 Smith Street, Providence, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in Saint Augustine Church, Mount Pleasant Avenue, Providence. Burial will be in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, East Providence. Visiting hours are Thursday from 4-8 p.m.
