Thomas Joseph Glodzik, 81, of Spring Hill Florida, passed away peacefully at home on Friday, August 3.

Born on February 10, 1940, he was the son of the late Thomas S. and Josephine B. (Wilusz) Glodzik of Central Falls, R.I.

Tom attended St. Joseph’s Catholic School, Central Falls, and was a 1957 graduate of Central Falls High School. After graduating he went to work for Hasbro before being drafted to the United States Army where he would eventually be stationed in Seoul, South Korea, with service in the Vietnam War. After his military duty he returned to work at Hasbro, where he was employed for 35 years and was traffic & warehouse manager for many years before his departure. He received an Associates Degree from Bryant College during this time. For the last 19 years he was an associate at Publix Supermarket, retiring in January 2021. He was a communicant of St. Joseph’s in Central Falls for many years before moving to Florida in 1997 and was a member of the Holy Name Society and served on the Parish Council.

Tom was a kind, loving and humorous man. He enjoyed gardening, the beach, polka music and dancing, traveling, and spending time with family and friends. He was proud of his service in the United States Army and of his Polish heritage. He and his wife, Joanne, traveled to many countries and exotic places around the world.

Tom leaves his wife of 31 years, Joanne (Dumond Costa); two daughters, Valerie Walters of Medford, Mass., Elizabeth and John Groff of Santee, Calif., and stepdaughter, Lisa (Costa), and Paul Jenard of Pawtucket; sister, Carolyn Jones, of Cranston; three grandchildren: Alexandra (Jacobson) Mullen, Army Lieutenant Rhys Jacobson and Helen Groff and several nieces and nephews. He was the brother of the late Richard Glodzik of Central Falls.

A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Tuesday, September 28, followed by an internment with military honors at the Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell, Fla.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the St. Vincent de Paul Society, 1291 Kass Circle, Spring Hill, Florida 34606.
