A most sincere thanks to all who displayed our American flag on both Memorial Day and the Fourth of July, and every day of the year.

Also, a deeply appreciated thank you to those who properly “retired” their torn, faded, or tattered flag by placing into the American flag deposit box located in the Veterans’ Memorial Park in Central Falls, or any located throughout the Blackstone Valley area.

In closing, thanks to American Legion Post 14 in Cumberland and the Friends of Hearthside at Chase Farm, for their efforts in providing a place and demonstration on how to “properly retire” America’s most important symbol, our flag.

An additional thanks to Post 14, for offering to take the many remaining flags to the Veterans’ cemetery in Exeter to be stored while awaiting a just and proper ceremony.
