BRIDGEWATER, Mass. – Cumberland’s Joe Molis, who is a senior corner infielder on the Bridgewater State University baseball team, received one of BSU’s highest athletic honors at the school’s 37th annual All-Sports Banquet that was held on May 2.
Molis was name the recipient of the Lee Harrington Unsung Hero Award, and he also received a berth on the MASCAC (Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference) Spring Sportsmanship Team.
The 2019 graduate of Cumberland High will head into this week’s MASCAC tournament batting .261 (30-for-115). In 34 games, Molis is tied for the team lead in doubles (11), and he also has three home runs, 25 runs batted in, and 24 runs scored. His on base percentage is .360, and his slugging percentage is .435.
