R.I. Strikers FC 2011 Green girls' soccer team wins Cranberry Cup title

SMITHFIELD — The R.I. Strikers FC 2011 Green girls’ soccer team recently captured the U12 championship at the Cranberry Cup, which was hosted by Reds Soccer Events and the Liverpool FC International Academy at the Union Point Sports Complex in Weymouth, Mass. The Strikers posted a 4-0 record that saw them outscore their opponents, 16-0, and in the finals, they battled through penalty kicks to pull off a 1-0 win over the host Liverpool FC’s SE Red 2011 team. The members of the team are, in front from left, Alivia King, Marina Utovec, Tayla Cost, Marissa Baptista, Braidey Carr, and Isabella Arias; in back, coach Vladimir Utovac, Madison Smith, Maria Villecco, Gianna Baz, Rori Rossi, Ryen Connell, Julia Hale, head coach Mike Smith, and coach Mike Cost.
